Absolutely! We offer a discounted Student Public Clinic where you can receive Massage Therapy treatments. Our clinic provides a fantastic opportunity for our students to practice their massage skills under the direct supervision of a Registered Massage Therapist. To ensure availability and personalized attention, we operate the clinic by appointments only. Please feel free to contact us to schedule an appointment.
During your Massage Therapy treatment, you can expect to have your privacy respected. Your student therapist will leave the room so that you may disrobe and cover yourself on the massage table. You may remove as little of your clothing as you wish. Shorts may be brought to the appointment, but are not required. During the treatment, you will be draped with a blanket and sheet so that only the part of your body being treated is uncovered.
We use a specialized hypoallergenic massage lotion or gel that is non-staining to clothing. Please inform your student therapist if you have any allergies, or are concerned with the ingredients of the lotion.
The treatment is 1 hour in duration; however, the first 15 minutes of the appointment will be used by the student therapist to perform an assessment.
Some tenderness or soreness may occur the day after a massage treatment. If you are concerned about the level of the discomfort experienced, or it’s more than 24 hours after your treatment, please contact RCCMT for advice. Subsequent treatments can be altered to adjust the amount of pressure or techniques previously used to achieve the desired results. It is imperative for you to give your student therapist feedback to make any changes required in the future.
Yes. The massage treatment will be modified to address the needs of the pregnant individual according to the trimester. Please inform the receptionist at the time of booking on how many weeks you are for the student therapist to make the necessary preparations for your treatment.
The Student Public Clinic requires a 24-hour notice for any cancellations. If a client has a pre-paid package, a charge for missed appointments will be applied.
Clients are responsible for the time they book for their massage appointment. If you are late for your appointment, the treatment will still end at the designated time with no change in fee. The appointment will be cancelled if the the client is over 15 minutes late.
