Students of RCC Participate in the Bimbo Global Race

Published September 29, 2024

This past weekend, our students from the Royal Canadian College of Massage Therapy took part in the Bimbo Global Race in Toronto. With the race set downtown along the scenic shores of Lake Ontario, participants and spectators alike enjoyed the autumn colours.

As a global event dedicated to feeding communities by donating 20 slices of bread for each registered runner, the 9th edition of the Bimbo Global Race brought together over 150,000 participants worldwide. Our students played a role, providing pre and post-race massage therapy to athletes under the guidance of a Registered Massage Therapist. This experience allowed them to contribute to both athlete performance and recovery.

Reflecting on the event, one of our students, expressed, "It was rewarding to see the immediate impact of our work on the athletes. Being able to support them was a fun experience."

Events like the Bimbo Global Race not only enhance our students' learning experiences but also align with our mission of community involvement. We look forward to participating in future events that combine sports, health, and charitable causes.

Stay tuned for more updates on our outreach activities!
